Sugarhill Boutique/Poppy Lux Wishlist

As regular readers will know, I was a huge fan of the blog Domestic Sluttery. A mix of delicious recipes, gorgeous homewares and beautiful clothes, it closed on Friday after five years. I have many things to thank Domestic Sluttery for - not least for giving me something pretty to look at on my breaks at work - and one of those is the discovery of Sugarhill Boutique. If like me you're a fan of quirky prints, pastels and girly details, then I guarantee you will find something you love there. Below are a selection of my current favourites:

Sugarhill Boutique has fully tapped into the Mexican mini-trend that's been happening this summer with a range of great pieces, but this dress is my favourite. In the perfect ice-cream shade of mint green and with an adorable pattern of donkeys. I'd wear this with white ballet pumps, my red satchel and a slick of red lippy.

Speaking of ice creams, I also really like the deceptively named 'Lolly' dress (let's be honest, those are clearly not lollies). I love the tie-dye look of the print and you can't go wrong with a shirt dress in summer - they're so easy to throw on, tie your hair up, slick of lip balm, grab your bag and run out the door. This one is relaxed enough for a day in the park with jewelled sandals or for a more casual day at work with ballet flats.

Well I had to include a camera print dress didn't I? This piece of loveliness also comes in bright blue, but I'm really loving that mint green shade at the moment so would go for this one. Again it's very easy to dress up or down with the right accessories and you could wear it in winter with tights and ankle boots as well. I also really love the unusual cutaway back detail which adds a bit of difference to what might otherwise seem to be a fairly straightforward skater dress.

Sugarhill Boutique has just launched a new sister brand called Poppy Lux and they have some utterly beautiful things. It's a bit more feminine rather than quirky compared to Sugarhill Boutique, as encapsulated by this pretty little Mia dress. I really like the 60s feel to it - it's crying out for a messy beehive and a brown smokey eye - and am a sucker for anything with polka dots on it so this is perfect for me. It's definitely one of those dresses you could wear for lots of different occasions as well, from work to going out with friends to a family party.

More polka dots! I love the print and the scalloped edge on these Dina denim shorts - they add a really nice 50s feminine feel and will be great to pretty up a standard shorts and T-shirt combination. Even though it's raining as I type this, these would be a brilliant investment piece for every summer, especially if your style tends towards the more retro side of things.

Have you bought anything from Sugarhill Boutique?
